AC Will Not Turn On
Begin at the thermostat. Confirm the display is on, MODE is set to COOL, FAN is set to AUTO, and the setpoint is 3–5°F below the room temperature. Some systems delay startup for several minutes after a setting changes. If the screen is blank, replace thermostat batteries when applicable and check the indoor HVAC breaker once.
Standing water near the air handler or in its drain pan can indicate that a condensate safety switch has stopped operation. If a breaker trips again, the thermostat remains blank, or water is present, stop and request service.
